Cockroach Control

There is a reason that cockroaches are one of the top five pests found in the Las Vegas area. This dry desert is home to a few different cockroaches. At Preempt Pest Control, we know how difficult it is to control a cockroach infestation. The American cockroach is the largest cockroach found in our area. The adults nearly two inches long. It has a dark reddish, brown body having a yellowish figure 8 pattern on their bodies. American cockroaches are filthy and pose a severe health threat. Cockroaches spread over 30 kinds of bacteria, including E. coli and Salmonella, as well as parasitic worms and other human pathogens. Germs attach to their legs and body as they crawl through sewage and waste, transferring germs onto food or food preparation surfaces in your home or business. The urine and fecal droppings contain allergen proteins that often result in an allergic reaction and asthma attacks.

ORIENTAL COCKROACH INFESTATION

Cockroach infestations in your plumbing system are normally Oriental cockroaches. They are dark brown to black and have shiny bodies. If you have leaking pipes, they are more likely to infest the area in search of water. Oriental cockroaches are one of the more unsanitary cockroaches in terms of bacteria and pathogens due habitat found in sewers and other bacteria-ridden water. These cockroaches can transfer dangerous bacteria and viruses such as E. coli, dysentery, and salmonella from transferring bacteria to food and cooking areas.

GERMAN COCKROACH INFESTATIONS

This is the smallest cockroach in the Vegas area. The German cockroach is usually light brown to tan in color and about an inch long. They have two dark brown stripes down their backs as well. German cockroaches carry harmful bacteria such as Salmonella and E. coli food poisoning and dysentery. Cockroach fecal waste, saliva and cast skins can also cause allergic reactions and trigger asthma attacks.
